🇸🇴 SOM - Somalia is a country located in the Horn of Africa. With a population of approximately 15 million people as of 2021, Somalia has faced numerous challenges in its digital health landscape. Limited infrastructure, political instability, and ongoing conflicts have hindered the development and implementation of comprehensive digital health systems. However, various initiatives have been undertaken to improve healthcare delivery through technology, including the use of mobile phones for healthcare information dissemination and remote consultations. Efforts are being made to strengthen health information systems and enhance data collection and analysis for better decision-making. Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge, particularly in rural areas, but digital health innovations continue to hold promise for improving healthcare access and outcomes in Somalia.
